Cooking Instructions for making California Farm Airfryer Smoked Ribeye Steaks
Put half a cup of woodchips with Tbs olive oil or butter in metal measuring cup on top of stove, when smoking, ignite with match, blow flame out when surface woodchips are glowing, place on bottom of airfryer. The airfryer forces air over the glowing woodchips and creates more smoke.
Cut steak in two or four portions. Rub meat with mixture of horse radish and mustard to make spices adhere, sprinkle and rub spices on both sides, bring to room temperature.
Cold smoke steaks on grill rack in airfryer at 225F degrees, driptray under. When you see juice collecting on top, after about 20 minutes, that indicates medium rare. If you have one, doublecheck with probe thermometer. You want 125F degrees internal meat temperature.
Remove steaks from oven, cover with foil, rest 15 minutes. Remove and douse cup with smoking wood, turn airfryer to broil.
Broil steaks 5 minutes in air fryer, 3 minutes one side, 2 minutes other side, to 130F degrees internal temperature for medium rare. Rest 5 minutes. Serves well with fresh salad and baked potato.
