Ingredients for Almond Paste Bread Roll (Gluten Free!!!)
- Dough
- 2 1/2 cups flour of choice if you use all purpose or whole wheat you may only need 2 cups, base off of stickiness
- 8 tablespoons cold butter
- 1 egg
- 1 small pack instant yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- Teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- Filling
- 1 package Almond paste
- Dash nutmeg
- Teaspoon cinnamon
- Dash allspice
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- Topping
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- Teaspoon cinnamon
- Optional nut: Almond or walnut
- Canola oil
Cooking Instructions for making Almond Paste Bread Roll (Gluten Free!!!)
Mix the butter, flour, egg, sugar, almond extract, and spices. Add the yeast and water. Mix before covering with a towel and let sit for 2 hours
Preheat oven to 350 F or 180 C
Grate the almond paste and add the spices and brown sugar.
Spray parchment paper with canola oil and place dough on the paper. Spray another piece of parchment paper with canola oil and lay on top
Use a roller to roll the dough flat. Mix the filling with milk and place at one end of the dough, try to spend the almond paste filling as much as you can
Roll into a roll and cut small marks in the top of the bread. Fold in the bread ends to sort of close it. Chop the nuts and mix them with brown sugar and cinnamon.
Coat the bread and place in oven for 30-45 minutes checking often so the bottom doesn’t burn.
