Ingredients for Vegetable pie
- For the dough
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 seasoning cube
- Pinch salt
- Little curry
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp yeast
- Water
- For the filling
- Cabbage
- Minced meat
- Carrot
- Spring onion
- Seasoning and curry
- Oil
Cooking Instructions for making Vegetable pie
Sieve the flour in a bowl, mix together with baking powder, yeast and seasoning.
Add the melted butter and mix till crumbly then add warm water and knead well keep aside for 30mins
Wash and cut the vegetables, add oil in a pan together with the chopped onions saute then add the minced meat saute and add the vegetables stir fry for 3-5mins, allow to cool.
On a board roll out the dough and cut into small round shape, do so for half of the dough, roll out the other half and cut into medium round then divide into semi-circle, you can do any shape of your choice
Scoop the filling into the center of each round dough and cover with another one using flour paste as a gum, for the semi circle scoop the filling in the center and fold to give a triangular shape
Deep fry in a pan under medium flame……… Delicious vegetable pie is ready to be served for breakfast with tea or as a snack
