Ingredients for Spaghetti Meatball Bake
- Ingredients:
- 500 g beef mince
- 1 slice bread (about 30g, soaked and squeezed out)
- 1 egg (about 50g)
- Garlic powder: 1 tsp (about 2.8g)
- Onion powder: 1 tsp (about 2.8g)
- Chili flakes: 1/2 tsp (about 0.5g)
- Cracked black pepper: 1/2 tsp (about 1g)
- Sweet paprika: 1/2 tsp (about 1g)
- Dried oregano leaves: 1 tsp (about 0.5g)
- Dried parsley: 1 tsp (about 0.3g)
- Salt: 1/2 tsp (about 3g)
- Mozzarella cheese: 50g (cubed for stuffing the meatballs)
- For the Sauce:
- Olive oil: 1 tbsp (about 15g)
- Red capsicum: 1, finely diced (about 120g)
- Zucchini: 1, finely diced (about 120g)
- Passata: 1 cup (about 240g)
- Tomato paste: 2 tbsp (about 30g)
- Worcestershire sauce: 1 tsp (about 5g)
- Chicken Stock Concentrate: 1 tsp (about 5g)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking Instructions for making Spaghetti Meatball Bake
Prepare the Meatballs:
Place the bread in the mixing bowl and tear it into smaller pieces. Blend for 5 seconds on speed 5 until finely crumble
Add the beef mince, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, chili flakes, cracked black pepper, sweet paprika, dried oregano, dried parsley, and salt. Mix for 15 seconds on speed 4. Mix again for another 10-15 seconds on speed 4, until combined.
Take a small portion of the mixture, flatten it slightly, and place a cube of mozzarella in the center. Form meatball
Brown the Meatballs:
In a large frying pan, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides until they are golden brown. Set aside.
Make the Sauce:
In the Thermomix, add 15g of olive oil and heat for 3 minutes at 100°C on speed 1.
Add the chopped red capsicum and zucchini.
Chop for 5 seconds on speed 5, then sauté for 5 minutes at 100°C on reverse speed soft. Add the passata, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, Chicken Stock Concentrate, salt, and pepper. Mix for 10 seconds on speed 3 to combine.
Carefully add the browned meatballs to the sauce mixture. Cook for 15 minutes at 100°C on reverse speed soft.
Cook the Spaghetti:
While the sauce is cooking, prepare the spaghetti according to package instructions.
Serve:
Serve the meatballs and sauce over the cooked spaghetti, garnished with fresh parsley or basil, if desired.
