Ingredients for Alkubus and Vegetable soup
- 4 cups flour
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- Yeast 1tblspn
- Salt
- Water
- Spinach
- Ugu
- Beef
- Fried fish
- Groundnuts
- Red pepper
- scotch bonnet
- tomatoes
- Onions
- Seasonings
Cooking Instructions for making Alkubus and Vegetable soup
Set all the ingredients
In a clean bowl sieve your flour,add salt and yeast then you add warm water to foam a sticky dough just as the one for puff puff
Cover and keep in a warm place. For 30minutes to raise
Meanwhile cut your spinach and ugu separately, ground the red pepper,scotch bonnet,tomatoes and slice the onions
In a clean pot put the vegetable oil (reduce small portion to rub on the containers that you will steam the alkubus) and sliced onions shallow fried it and then add in the ground kayan miya& groundnut(grounded) add seasonings,add in the cooked beef and fried fish stir fry a little and put small amount of water and cover it to cook a little
Meanwhile wash the spinach and ugu and set it for use
Put the ugu leaves first and cook for 3-5minutes then you put the spinach
Stir and cook for 5minutes……Done ready to serve
Place ur steamer on low flame put water that will steam the alkubus and place the containers that you will be using (I used silicon cake containers) rub V/oil to the containers and put half or more than half portion of the batter to each container cover and allow to steam for 15-20minutes
