Cooking Instructions for making Chicken Stir-Fry
Prepare the chicken: In a bowl, mix the sliced chicken with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, a pinch of black pepper, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for about 10-15 minutes.
Cook the chicken: Heat sesame oil (and olive oil, if using) in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken slices and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.
Cook the vegetables: In the same pan, add the garlic and onion. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Then, add the bell peppers, carrot, and broccoli. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
Combine chicken and sauce: Return the cooked chicken to the pan. Add the remaining soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using). Stir everything together to coat the chicken and vegetables evenly with the sauce. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Serve: Remove from heat and serve your chicken stir-fry with steamed rice or noodles, if desired.
