Ingredients for Fried sardine in coconut, tomato sauce and fried green bananas
- 1 whole sardine🐟
- Salt to taste🧂
- 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper powder 🌶️
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste 🧄
- 1 tbsp plain yoghurt
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1-2 green chillies
- 1 tsp lemon juice 🍋
- Oil for shallow frying
- 6 (raw) green bananas🍌
- For curry
- 2-3 tbsp oil
- 3-4 onions paste 🧅
- 1 🍅 tomato puree
- 1 packet coconut cream
- 3 tbsp plain yoghurt
- Salt to taste🧂
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp kashmiri red chillies powder🌶️
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste 🧄
- 1 tbsp green chillies paste
- 1/2 tsp coriander & cumin powder
Cooking Instructions for making Fried sardine in coconut, tomato sauce and fried green bananas
Wash and clean 🐟 fish, pat dry with paper napkin, keep aside. To make coriander paste: in a mortar and pestle add chopped coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste 🧄, green chillies, cumin seeds and grind.
Remove the mixture from mortar into a bowl, add salt🧂, cayenne pepper powder 🌶️, black pepper powder, oil, plain yoghurt, 1 tsp lemon juice 🍋 and mix well, spread on the fish, set aside for 30 mins.
Shallow fry the fish, on low – medium flame, until done, keep aside, peel green bananas and shallow fry them, keep aside.
To make curry: heat oil, add cumin seeds, when start to crackle, add onions paste 🧅, cook until golden, add ginger- garlic paste 🧄, green chillies paste mix well, cook for 1 min.
Add tomato puree 🍅, salt 🧂, and mix until tomato becomes tender and soft, add kashmiri red chillies powder 🌶️, turmeric powder, coriander & cumin powder and mix well, add plain yoghurt, cook until oil comes out.
Add little 1/4 cup water, coconut cream mix well, cover and cook for 5 mins,make a thick gravy, pour hot gravy on fried 🐟 fish and serve with fried green bananas.
