Ingredients for Fried sardine in coconut, tomato sauce and fried green bananas

1 whole sardine

Salt to taste
- 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder

1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp plain yoghurt
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1-2 green chillies

1 tsp lemon juice
- Oil for shallow frying

6 (raw) green bananas
- For curry
- 2-3 tbsp oil

3-4 onions paste

tomato puree
- 1 packet coconut cream
- 3 tbsp plain yoghurt

Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp kashmiri red chillies powder

1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp green chillies paste
- 1/2 tsp coriander & cumin powder
Cooking Instructions for making Fried sardine in coconut, tomato sauce and fried green bananas
Wash and clean fish, pat dry with paper napkin, keep aside. To make coriander paste: in a mortar and pestle add chopped coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste
, green chillies, cumin seeds and grind.
Remove the mixture from mortar into a bowl, add salt, cayenne pepper powder
, black pepper powder, oil, plain yoghurt, 1 tsp lemon juice
and mix well, spread on the fish, set aside for 30 mins.
Shallow fry the fish, on low – medium flame, until done, keep aside, peel green bananas and shallow fry them, keep aside.
To make curry: heat oil, add cumin seeds, when start to crackle, add onions paste , cook until golden, add ginger- garlic paste
, green chillies paste mix well, cook for 1 min.
Add tomato puree , salt
, and mix until tomato becomes tender and soft, add kashmiri red chillies powder
, turmeric powder, coriander & cumin powder and mix well, add plain yoghurt, cook until oil comes out.
Add little 1/4 cup water, coconut cream mix well, cover and cook for 5 mins,make a thick gravy, pour hot gravy on fried fish and serve with fried green bananas.
