Cooking Instructions for making Ground Meat and Vegetable Rice Bowl with
Chop the ginger, leek, carrot and onion finely. Chop the green onion finely also (into thin rounds). Put the chopped ginger and leek together.
Heat the sesame oil in a pan over low heat, add the ginger and leek and slowly stir fry until it’s fragrant. Take care not to burn it!
When it’s softened, add the carrot and onion, turn the heat up to medium, and stir fry until softened.
Add the ground meat to the pot, turn the heat up a bit to medium-high, and stir fry until cooked through.
Add water to the pot and bring to a boil, then add the soy sauce, mirin and sake and bring to a boil again.
Turn the heat down a bit and add the katakuriko dissolved in water little by little to thicken the sauce.
Put rice in serving bowls or plates, spoon the meat sauce over it, sprinkle on the chopped green onion and it’s done!
