Cooking Instructions for making Homemade Sandwich (“sliced”) Bread
In a large bowl (if you’reusing a hand mixer) -or use your stand mixer bowl, add your water, yeast and HALF the sugar. Mix well together and set aside for about 10min (let the mixture get a little frothy)
Add the remaining sugar, oil, salt, and about half of the flour. Mix until combined.
Using your hand mixer (using dough hooks) or your stand mixer- on low speed, add the remaining flour gradually. The dough should start gradually pulling off the sides of the bowl. The dough should be slightly sticky (if it’s too sticky, just add a little more flour)
Using your hand mixer (or stand) knead your dough for 5-8 min. (You could also use your hands for this part!
Grab your dough, long enough to spray the bowl well with oil, place the dough back in and cover with plastic wrap and tea towel.
Set aside for 1.5 hour to rise.
Punch your dough down, divide into 2 equal pieces. Form your dough as best as you can into a log shape and place each loaf into a well greased loaf pan.
Let rise for another hour.
Preheat oven to 350°F, bake your loaves on the mid-bottom rack for 30-35min until lightly golden brown.
