Cooking Instructions for making Lebanese Style Spiced Beef Pizza with homemade lemon garlic yoghurt sauce topped with Za’atar
Start by creating the lemon garlic yoghurt sauce. In a bowl, combine 1 cup Greek yoghurt, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 minced garlic clove, 2 tablespoons chopped parsley, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon olive oil and combine thoroughly. Set aside in fridge.
Next, in a large mixing bowl combine your beef or lamb mince, cumin, paprika, garlic, onion, capsicum, spinach, cayenne pepper, tomato paste, quarter of a block of feta (crumbled) and a tablespoon of fresh parsley.
Once combined throughly, heat a fry pan on medium high heat. While you do this, preheat your oven to 200 degrees. Cook the meat mixture until fully cooked. Remove from heat.
Spray the back of your pita bread with olive oil. Add your meat mixture to the top and spread evenly. Sprinkle za’atar over the meat, add more feta on top and place in oven on a rack for 5 mins or until the base is crispy.
Once crispy, take out, add yoghurt sauce, salt and pepper to taste and cut with a pizza cutter. Enjoy
