Add in a small amount of milk (or heavy cream) and continue to mix on low until frosting begins to come together. After frosting is at desired consistency add in vanilla extract and mix until well incorporated.

1) for a thicker frosting add in more powdered sugar 1-2 TBSP at a time until desired consistency is reached.
2) for a thinner consistency add in more milk (or heavy cream) 1-2 TBSP at a time until frosting is at desired consistency.
