Cooking Instructions for making Spiced Beef Flatbread Pizza 😋
In a mixing bowl, add your flour, salt and begin to slowly add in the warm water.
Add the olive oil and begin to mix together, it will be sticky at the start but persist. Trust the process. Continue to mix until you have formed a ball. If it’s too dry add a teaspoon of water. If it’s too sticky after 2 mins, add a tablespoon of flour.
Remove from mixing bowl when you have a ball. Flour your working surface generously and bring to knead the dough, continue for about 7-9 mins. Add a few drops of oil if it’s not shaping well..
Once kneading is completely, form a ball and rest under a tea towel for 30 mins minimum. After 30 mins, again flour the surface of your working bench and also add some flour dusting to your bail. Cut the ball into 4 equal pieces.
On a floured surface, use a roller to roll the dough ball out adding flour as you go (if you need to avoid sticking together) roll very thinly, about 1-2mm. On a preheated pan on high heat (no oil) place the bread and allow to cook for 30-1 minutes before flipping. Bubbles should form and a few coloured spots.
Once complete, remove and allow to rest in a mixing bowl with a plate covering the top to allow to steam (it helps with texture)
Once you’re ready to cook, preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Spread the tomato paste on your base. I usually add salt and pepper and chilli flakes immediately after.
Add your cheese, and then your meat (after you’ve cooked it until browned) and also your vegetables. Don’t forget feta! Place into hot oven and allow to cook for 10 mins before checking and continuing until crispy. Enjoy with garlic lemon herb yoghurt if you like!
