Ingredients for Two Cheese and Onion Shortcrust Pastry Pasties
- 375 g (1 Packet) All Ready Rolled out Shortcrust Pastry
- 300 g thinly sliced potatoes with their skins on (or not)
- 300 g Mature Cheddar Cheese
- 1 medium sized Brown Onion
- Milk too brush glaze the raw Pastry
Cooking Instructions for making Two Cheese and Onion Shortcrust Pastry Pasties
Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 6
Need too turn potatoes into thin slices – I used a Tefal Attachment that came with my Tefal Food Processor too grate thin slices of potatoes – did soak in cold water twice over a Period of time to remove the Starch from the potatoes and also clean them. Cannot remember whether I blanched the thin potatoes in boiling hot water, don’t think it matters
Use Tefal Food Processor too grate the Mature Cheddar Cheese or use a manual hand Grater
Use Tefal Food Processor too grate thin slices of onions
Unravel the Shop bought already rolled out Shortcrust Pastry and then produce two equal halve’s. Stuff the One half of the already rolled out Shortcrust Pastry with 150g of thin sliced potatoes and then add 150g of Mature Cheddar Cheese and then add half of the thinly sliced onion – cold water wash the edges of the Pastry and then flap over and seal – could use a Fingertip too seal. Do the same with the other One
Bake One raw Pasty at a time, but first use a Pastry Brush and dip in Pasteurized Cow Milk and then glaze the raw prepared Pasty – bake on a Baking Tray with Baking Parchment Paper underneath. Bake in the oven at Gas Mark 6 for 50 minutes. If their is a soggy bottom then can reheat in the oven on the otherside later – 20 minutes with Baking Parchment Paper over the top and then 10 minutes without the Baking Parchment Paper on
